The podcast market is saturated with shows that cater to the horror genre. Some talk about fictional stories and urban legends while others deal with the film side of horror. Having explored hundreds of podcasts, I was always left wanting a bit more and was never truly satisfied, until I stumbled upon Horror Rewind.
Hosted by Meg Hafdahl (author of the Twisted Reveries) and Kelly Florence (owner of Gothic Gifts), they talk about horror films that they grew up with. Recalling the films with humour and a sense of nostalgia that makes you feel like you are listening in on a conversation with your friends rather than a podcast, they cover many classic films and even share their themed cocktails for you to enjoy while watching the films.
My personal favourites are the Friday the 13th episodes, where the hosts talk about watching films when they were kids in a way I can relate to. It brings back memories of going to video stores and watching late night horror screenings at the cinema –– you will be hooked and drawn into every episode. Add some cool trivia and funny stories into the mix, and you have the best horror film podcast out there.
Horror Rewind is available to download on iTunes or wherever you listen to podcasts.
